The assignments in your take-home work packets are posted here in case you need more copies. In the future, if/when we move to online instruction, this web site will serve as a gateway for my classes. US History English II or you can use the links in the menu bar of the web site. And now, a word from Mr. McCraw...I hope this finds you healthy and well. Things at my house actually seem pretty normal (shelter-at-home is pretty much the regular homeschool lifestyle anyway) but I know this is a weird time for all of you.
So... If you read the news at all, or even dare to look at social media, there is no shortage of people willing to talk about the bad stuff going on. I decided to keep a list of good things that have come from the down time at home (besides the obvious "more time with my family"). Keeps me in the right frame of mind, and it might be good for you to do too. My list so far: 1. I've had time to go on long kayak trips across Lake Bob Sandlin and Lake Cypress Springs. 2. I've read 5 books so far (Ok, one of them was me reading Ribsy to my daughter). 3. So many chores crossed off my "honey-do" list. 4. No STAAR tests this year (!). 5. I'm the GOAT of board games. 6. Groceries are sporadic (to say the least!), so I've had fun cooking new things that are out of my normal routine with the ingredients we do have. 7. Found my 700th Geocache. 8. Have watched a couple really good movies and TV shows. (Also, Frozen 2 which is not good, but my daughter really likes it) 9. My dog is genuinely surprised that I'm home everyday. She's super excited all the time. I'm going to keep at the list and I encourage you to make the best of your situation, too. Check out my blog for specific recommendations of books, music, movies and shows that probably only I will like, but who knows, maybe you will too. --McCraw |
